Dottie’s Goat Farm was established in 2022.

About Us

Mission

Our mission is to raise goats that will help landowners maintain their fields cleared from unwanted brush and safe from wildfires.

Goats are not only cute to watch, but they are also prolific grass eaters. They clear unwanted and dry vegetation in a short amount of time, while keeping fields safe and nicely grazed.

History

Dottie’s Goat Farm was established in June 2022 by Pamela and Reed. The farm was named after one of their beloved baby goats, Dottie.

Who was Dottie?

Dottie was a sweet little baby goat that Pamela and Reed adopted on October 14, 2021, after the kid was rejected by her mom. She had a single black dot on her back, so they named her “Dottie.”

The couple was so eager to watch her grow into a beautiful doe. Dottie was so curious and full of energy. She loved to run, skip, and talk back. Unfortunately, shortly after she was born, Dottie became ill. Despite all the veterinary visits and attempts to save her, she passed away in their arms.

Dottie’s passing left Pamela and Reed devastated and heartbroken. They never imagined that they would say goodbye to Dottie so soon. But it was shortly after her passing that they realized the reason of her existence.

Dottie came into their lives to bring them healing for a pain caused after losing their own beloved baby girl a few years back. Dottie gave them the opportunity to nurture a beautiful tiny soul, once again, and feel gratitude for the happiness Dottie, just like their baby, brought to them during her short life.

The couple is beyond grateful for meeting such a unique baby goat and for having lived so many treasured moments with her in such a short time. Because she was so precious to them, they decided to establish an official goat farm in her name and offer the advantages of goatscaping to help fight against wildfires. Dottie was a huge inspiration and continues to live forever in their hearts and memories.
